Experience
As a Nutrition and Foods major at Texas State University with a minor in Business Administration, I have gained a valuable toolset provided by my professors and peers that I cannot be more grateful for.
I’ve always been drawn towards food and helping others, so becoming a nutrition professional felt exactly right. As a teen, my first job was working at Jamba Juice, making smoothies and drinking lots of them too. Once I moved out to college, I began working in the restaurant industry as well as teaching yoga.
In 2021, I completed my 200HR Yoga Teacher Certification, which changed the way I thought about many things in my life. This education experience gave me the ability to teach others to look inwards, be more mindful, and breathe. With that I was able to create the Bobcat Yoga Club, a wellness community for students at Texas State. I led 30-90 participants through weekly yoga sessions, helped organize social events, as well as oversee the organizations’ communications, finances, and collaborations. Through this role, I’ve learned to lead with mindfulness, creativity, and compassion.
I was first introduced to Ayurveda in my 200HR training and it fascinated me from then on. After being in school, learning more and more on the way food impacts the body, and how we can help people as nutrition professionals, the yearning to know more about Ayurveda persisted. In 2024, I completed a 50HR Ayurveda course that, once again, changed the way I thought about many things in my life. That same year I became a certified ServSafe Food Protection Manager, through one of my classes at Texas State.
