About me

Hello I’m Adriana Wilde!

With a bachelor of science in Nutrition and Foods with a minor in Business Administration, I have gained a valuable toolset provided by my professors and peers at Texas State University that I cannot be more grateful for. Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, I’ve always loved being outside, especially by the water. My love for the water persists, and has only grown being around the beautiful San Marcos river!

Education is a pillar in my family and I was always encouraged to keep learning. When I got to university, I was conflicted in what I wanted to study but I was certain I wanted to learn more about yoga. That same year, I got my 200HR Trauma Informed Align Yoga Teaching Certificate with Rey Cardenas at Practice Yoga Austin, and shortly after announced my major in Nutrition.

On completing my yoga certification, many things shifted in the way I thought about my life. This education experience gave me the ability to teach others, and myself, to look inwards, be more conscious of peoples’ experiences, and to breathe.

After I got comfortable teaching, I created Bobcat Yoga Club, the yoga community for students at Texas State University. As the founder and main instructor, I led 40-100 participants through weekly yoga sessions, helped organize social events, connected with yoga studios in the area bringing our members to them, as well as oversee the organizations’ communications, finances, collaborations, and community service. Working with my executive team we were able to grow from a new organization of zero members to a group of 120 by our second semester. Through this role, I’ve learned to lead with mindfulness, creativity, and compassion.

Student to life

As a lifelong food lover, I was called to major in Nutrition and Foods. I was eager to learn more on how the food we consume shape our experiences, and its profound relationship to the human condition. It’s encouraging how much there is to learn in this ever-evolving field, always a student first.

Ayurveda (the science of yoga) was first introduced to me in my initial 200 hour training and it fascinated me from then on. As my understanding for clinical nutrition deepened, the longing to know more about Ayurvedic philosophy persisted. In perfect time, I participated in a 50-hour continuing education course on Ayurveda with incredible teachers, Jenn Wooten and Iva Drtina-Hall , which transformed how I approached both nutrition and personal wellness.

My studies continued through a 50-hour course with JennyO and Laura Marcotte on Yoga for Addiction and Recovery. Wrapped up in the reality of addiction all around me and within me, I learned the slow gentle approach needed to re-awaken the body and rebuild interoception. Deepening my understanding to always meet people with compassion, exactly where they are.

Currently, I am studying with Michelle Acebo, taking a 50-hour advanced training for Emotional Wellness Through Yoga.

Yoga in the Wilde

Yoga goes well beyond the postures (asanas), it is a philosophy that can and should be practiced off your mat, especially in your day to day life. Here, at Yoga in the Wilde, we believe yoga can be practiced wherever you are, since there You are. Building up your internal fortitude through breath-work, asana, and conscious awareness.

“Wherever you go, there you are” - Jon Kabat-Zinn

Finding that subtle awareness, or even just allowing yourself the space, time, and energy to safely do so, is not always easy. Stress, trauma, disease can all leave lasting impressions on the body. Not as a sign of weakness or failure, but as the biological response of a nervous system working its hardest to keep you safe. If you feel disregulated, disconnected, or even unsafe in your body, it is not always your fault. Trauma lives in our physiology, and healing asks for far more than willpower alone.

Bridging the science of nutrition with the practice of yoga to create an internal map that guides you back to your natural state of homeostasis (the body’s innate ability to self-regulate and find stability amid change). Yoga is one of the most powerful tools for stabilizing the nervous system, and when paired with nourishing meals and a compassionate, personalized approach to care, it becomes a pathway to lasting vitality. Asanas are the entrance and what lies beyond them is a lifetime of growth, health, and self-knowing.
